This 3-title series, The Basics of Rapid Intervention, provides an introduction to the operations and techniques used by rapid intervention crews. The series was developed using NFPA©1407: Standard for Training Fire Service Rapid Intervention Crews and presents preparedness and predeployment concepts used on the fireground. Included are best practices in radio communications, MAYDAY activation as well as self-rescue techniques, air management, and the use of thermal imaging cameras.
