PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (PALS)
The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who either directly oversee or participate in the management of respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies and cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatric patients. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, or critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, and others who need a PALS Course Completion Card for a job or other requirements. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics.
BLS certification is not required to attend PALS. It is recommended to have a working knowledge of BLS, basic rhythm interpretation, and pharmacology before class.
Students are responsible for providing their textbook or e-manual for class. No student shall be allowed to attend without a textbook or e-Manual and you will forfeit your deposit. E-manuals are recommended, as you will have instant access.
Upon enrollment for an in-person class, you will be emailed the link to the pre-course assessment and work to complete before class. This is free of charge. Please bring the certificate of completion to class. If you do not have your certificate, you will not be allowed to attend class and forfeit your deposit for class.
Manuals are recommended but not required for the online Heartcode courses.
