Comfort
The PSS 7000 floats on the wearer’s waist due to the supportive waist belt that keeps the SCBA at a lower center of gravity, allowing for less stress on the wearer when moving, twisting, reaching, etc. No matter a firefighter’s size or shape, the Dräger SCBA fits. The PSS 7000 includes a user-selected height adjustment, and the waist band adjusts to practically any shape, offering a flexible pivot as the firefighter moves. Additionally, the full-face mask comes in nine different sizes, which means Dräger SCBAs fit virtually any firefighter.
15-Year Warranty
The Dräger SCBA certified to the 2019 Edition of NFPA 1981 and 1982 include a 15-year warranty. Warranty includes: first-stage pressure reducer, pneumatics, back frame, electronics, other hoses, harness assembly, and straps. Everything on a Dräger SCBA (except O-rings, mask exhalation values, mask hairnet, and the mask lens) is covered by the industry-best warranty.
Cleanability
No tools are required to clean the Dräger SCBA. In less than 60 seconds, the entire unit can be disassembled (and reassembled) easily. This quick disassembly and the flame-resistant, rubberized materials, allows for detailed disinfecting at the station.
Long-Lasting Batteries
The waterproof battery compartment includes five AA batteries. Those five batteries will last a year — based on using an SCBA one hour a day for 365 days. This also means you don’t have to recharge batteries or exchange a battery on the fire ground. Below the battery compartment is a back-up battery. In the event of a failure of the main battery pack, the backup battery will continue to power the head-up display device in the mask to relay information for continued air pressure readings.
NFPA Certification
Proven components and worn by thousands of Firefighters worldwide, the Dräger SCBA receives updates to meet the 2019 Edition of NFPA 1981 and 1982. Announced on Sept. 30, 2019, the 2019 Edition requires some changes to the Dräger SCBA.
